Harex provides every service in Ajax: inspection, testing, repair, installation and verification, with the 24-hour emergency line answered for Ajax buildings at any hour.
Ajax Fire and Emergency Services runs a dedicated Fire Prevention division whose inspectors inspect occupancies under the Ontario Fire Code and also review site plans and architectural drawings for compliance, which matters on an installation or a change of use. The service has about 100 full-time staff across three halls.

Harex forwards every completed emergency lighting report for a Ajax building to Ajax Fire and Emergency Services, so the building is on record as maintained with the department that would otherwise be the one to notice a lapse. Why it fails inspection so often
Emergency lighting is the easiest system in a Durham Region building to forget, and the easiest for an inspector to test: they press the button. Batteries lose capacity quietly, so a unit that lights up for ten seconds can still fail the full-duration test the code actually requires.
