Harex has inspected, tested and repaired fire protection systems in Durham Region since 1983. Same family, second generation, and in a lot of cases the same buildings we started with.
That is not sentiment, it is the whole argument. Fire protection is a records business. A contractor who has held your file for twenty years knows which devices were replaced when, which deficiencies were argued and won, and what the inspector asked for last time.
How we work
Technicians work in pairs
One at the panel, one at the device. It is faster, it is safer, and it is the only way to test a large building honestly in a day.
We answer the phone
Needs get amended immediately rather than ignored. It is unglamorous, and it is why retention is not a problem we have.
Repair before replace
Where a system still has service life, we say so. Selling a panel that did not need replacing is a one-time transaction, and we are not in that business.
We take the AHJ on
When a retrofit order does not stand up, we put the question to the fire department in writing rather than passing the invoice to you.
Since 1983
Harex founded in Oshawa, inspecting fire alarms and extinguishers for local industry.
Service widens to emergency lighting, sprinklers, installation and verification.
The family's second generation takes over day-to-day operations, same clients, same standard.
Industrial and commercial buildings across Durham Region and the east GTA, most on multi-year agreements.
Who you actually deal with
A small company is the point. You are not routed through a call centre, and the person who quotes your building is the person whose technicians show up to it.
If something goes wrong, you already have the number of someone who can fix it.
